In my opinion, the death penalty is counter-productive because it deters juries from the guilty verdict, leaves the potential for irrevocable miscarriage of justice, causes civil conflict, costs more, takes longer, and has too many ways for those with means to get out of it.

I'm beginning to be against it simply because it isn't worth the trouble in most cases. I don't think it should be entirely abolished because there are always people like Charlie Manson, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and others that we simply can't have.
