God damn Russian Thistle, for one. Even the cattle don't like that unless it is very young and tender. Then it's muddy, so the ground gets all mushed up. Mustard - everyone thinks its so beautiful and it is very picturesque. It was introduced by the Spaniards to find their way home. The planted it along the way so they'd know where they went inland. When the mustard stopped they turned back to the coast on the return trip.

In three hundred years the stuff has become a scourge and pushed out a lot of native plants. The cattle grazing it down keeps it under control.
