The U.S. computer and printer maker cited stiff price competition from rivals Sun Microsystems (NasdaqNM:SUNW - news) and IBM (NYSE:IBM - news). This is a little misleading in that the biggest suppliers that compete spec for spec with the HP lp 2000r and 1000r are Compaq and Dell. IBM also, but Dell is the notorious price slasher these days.
