To not "rat on" someone intending harm is irresponsible as a "stakeholder."

I sure wish everything were as simple as you want it to be.

I find making judgments about when to intervene and when to mind my own business one of the most difficult challenges I face on a routine basis. I prefer to err on the side of MYOB unless I think the situation is truly dangerous. The problem is, of course, that it's hard to know when something is dangerous until it's too late.

I don't think kids running to the principal every time a classmate says something stupid is the answer. Waayyyy too any false positives. [Don't think that Ms. McGrory thinks so either.]
