A wonderful series... did the radio (the original source) or TV versions ever make it to the US? The HHGttG radio plays were on public radio here in '79 or so, the TV version in the early eighties. The radio plays were the best, Zaphod's 2nd head just didn't cut it on TV. The books really can't touch the radio series for laughs. I used to try to explain the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation and the virtues of down on balky elevators, but my rendition was lacking. I have dubs of both versions, but recordings don't seem to be very generally available here. The British seem to be much less aggressive recyclers than most US media. On unrelated recycled theological matters, I was quite pleased to see the original Peter Cook/ Dudley Moore version of "Bedazzled" come available on video again after the lame remake came out recently. I can't place the other SF story you refer to, but also relevant is the famous Twilight Zone episode, "To Serve Man". See tvtome.com , I still remember watching the last scene. IT'S A COOKBOOK! The Damon Knight story it was based on is apparently long out of print, but available for pay on the net at fictionwise.com . -Win.
