Jim Cramer is hot on the oil patch ...

********************************************
From the Street.com -

Sometimes a bell goes off and if you listen to it you make a ton of money. Yesterday a bell went off in the oil patch: Royal Dutch/Shell went hostile for Barrett(BRR:NYSE). Royal Dutch/Shell is considered to be the industry's premier operation. It is a magnificent
company filled with a tremendous number of smart people.

When I was at Goldman Sachs I used to "use" Shell as my oil selection when I called on customers because I knew it wouldn't blow up in my face. They are shrewd financially and they are incredibly good at evaluating prospects, of theirs and others.

For them to go hostile, for them to be willing to pay a substantial premium, means that this stock and this cohort must be extremely undervalued. It is as if the gods of oil have sent a signal, that despite the rally in the group, there are bargains in the patch. I need your help. Send me your ideas. I want to be all over this sector. I need to know which are the most undervalued oil-patch properties out there.

We have some winners to pick here.

If Shell messed up the acquisiton by low balling the first bid, is the signal that strong ?

Does Jim's thinking reflect that of a large number of Wall Street players, and we should expect
a 3-4 week surge in oil patch stock prices ?

Will Colin Campbell's forecast scare the pants off Congress so they open up ANWR ?

Tune in tomorrow for another thrilling episode of "As the Drill Bit Turns" !
