News Release Kinross Gold Corporation Shares issued 121,787,457 Jun 5 close $8.10 Fri 6 Jun 97 Mr Robert Buchan reports The Ontario Ministry of Labour has served an order on the company's Macassa division which precludes the company from continuing any underground operations pending the resolution of several outstanding safety issues related to the April 12 1997 rock bursts at the mine. The company believes it has addressed these issues and is meeting with the Ministry early next week.
