Hi Charles : Intel's warning is hitting SUNW now trading at $19 11/16 in the after market! I guess their statement that Intel is having problems and showing slowing growth in their server sales is impacting SUNW. I do not believe it is one that SUNW is stealing their market share but rather that SUNW is caught in this downward spiral.

Frankly, I think is is being overdone with respect to SUNW, DELL & CPQ. However, the market is beginning to see this slow down as more than a 2 quarter event. Perhaps it may last throughout 2001! If so, SUNW will be dead money for the next 6-8 months.

I continue to hold but am looking at the R&D expenditures that SUNW continues to spend, especially in the P2P area (http://biz.yahoo.com/rf/010306/n0637746_2.html) "Sun Micro buys peer-to-peer search engine InfraSearch". ( here is another link to the peer-to-peer technology Sunw just acquired (http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/010306/sftu070.html).

I believe this investment will eventually pay big dividends looking forward 18 months. Look at Napstar's 2.5 million customers.
