Yes, dogs carrying the ticks inside is a big problem for us too. When you first look at them, they almost look like spiders, but let them get firmly attached and they soon blow up like little balloons as they fill up with blood....
Last summer I was working at the computer with shorts on, and one of our dogs brushed against the back of my legs. A little while later I felt something and reached under my kneecap area and pulled off a tick already starting to burrow in! I then made sure that the bite area bled out well, and then put some tea tree oil on it. No ill effects so far from that tick episode thank god. Yogi
