News Release
Mr. Richard Kantor reports
Champion Bear Resources has completed a diamond drill program on its wholly
owned Separation Rapids property located in the Kenora mining division of
Northwestern Ontario. A total of 15 holes were drilled for a total of 1,545 metres.
Five drill holes were drilled to define and test the Marko's and North Marko's
dikes (SR-11 to 15). Four holes were drilled to test the east extension of the
North Marko's pegmatite (SR-16 to 19). Drill holes SR-20 to 25 were drilled in
the vicinity of Pegmatite No. 7 and No. 8, located on the eastern claim block.
Champion Bear has only received assay results from drill hole SR-13. Drill hole
SR-13 was drilled 22 metres west of SR-1 and intersected the Marko's pegmatite
between 12.1 and 25.8 metres (13.7 metres). The upper section is a blocky
petalite and feldspar phase with up to 1.4 per cent rubidium. The lower section of
the dike at 22 to 25.8 metres (3.8 metres) assayed 407 parts per million (ppm)
Ta2 O5 (0.81 pounds per ton). Assays for lithium, tin and niobium from drill hole
SR-13 are pending.
Drill results on pegmatite No. 7 indicate that the pegmatite extends west for 100
metres but pinches out toward the east. However, several new dikes were
encountered to the southeast. Assay results from the remaining drill holes will be
reported by Champion Bear as they become available.
The NQ drill core was logged on site and samples split using a mechanical splitter.
One-half of the core taken at designated intervals (generally one metre in length)
was placed in plastic bags sealed by strapping tape and shipped by courier
express to the primary laboratory, Activation Laboratories in Ancaster, Ont. This
laboratory uses neutron activation techniques for rubidium, cesium, tantalum, tin
and niobium. Lithium determination is by boron fusion procedure. The drilling
program was supervised by Tony Pryslak, vice-president, exploration, of
Champion Bear.
