al, i'm not arguing that card #s can't be hacked. card #s are stolen all the time, too. what i want to know is how many stolen $$$ are related to e-commerce/$$$ sales and compare that to the b&m metric.

that is where the rubber hits the road. just because a server has one of 1,000,000 credit card numbers on it doesn't mean all 1,000,000 were used for fraudulent purposes.

my guess is that small groups of folks hacked these sites. i find it hard to believe that they could have $1,000,000,000 worth of crap delivered to their own door ;-)
