I explicitly stated that I ".. never implied that DATEK quotes were in any way associated with SI.", so where did you get the idea that anything that has to do with DATEK in anyway effects streaming quotes from SI?
You seem to have things very confused. Let me break things down:
DATEK is a brokerage firm that is in no way affiliated any of the others mentioned here
Silicon Investor - This site and is not affiliated with Medved QuoteTracker or DATEK (at least as far as this conversation is concerned).
Silicon Investor - Has Money.net provide the streaming quotes for it's users. (just like Firestone provides tires for Ford - does not mean one owns the other)
DATEK used to provide free quotes to everyone. They announced that they will only provide free quotes to their clients after March 31. If you want to be a DATEK client, you have to open an account and put at least $500 in it. You are NOT PAYING datek, same as if you put $500 into a bank account, you are not paying the bank - it is your money.
Silicon Investor provides the streaming quotes for free to their users. They still provide free quotes to their users. DATEK changing their policy in no way effects SI policy.
Medved QuoteTracker - Free Real-time tracking software provided by 2GK, Inc., that lets the user connect to various data feeds to get quotes, live charts, etc. Among the various data feeds are DATEK and Silicon Investor's streaming quotes. QuoteTracker is the name of our specific software, NOT a general name for any software that streams quotes. Just because we connect to the various quote sites, does NOT mean we are affiliated with them (You use Microsoft Internet Explorer to browse SI, but that does not mean that Microsoft has anything to do with SI)
