Jerry Stackhouse has not been the winner that Grant Hill has been. This is true because he isn't as good a player. Stackhouse joined a Carolina team that was coming off a national championship (along with fellow stud recruit Rasheed Wallace). The team lost only George Lynch from the previous year. Stackhouse & Wallace ruined the chemistry of the team. In contrast, Grant Hill joined a very good team, and the team promptly stepped up its play to win back to back national championships. He keyed the devastating run to open the second half of the Michigan game, breaking down the Wolverine defense at will. When all the stars left, he took the reins of a remarkably untalented and unathletic team, and led the way to within a hair of a national championship.

In the NBA, Grant Hill has taken his team to the playoffs numerous times. Lindsay Hunter, Allan Houston, and Terry Mills were all scoring machines when they had Grant Hill creating open looks for them. None have been the same since they left Detroit. Stackhouse was unceremoniously dumped by Philly. Last year, he rode Grant's coattails to the playoffs. When Grant was injured, Stackhouse could not step up to fill his shoes. Now, Stackhouse is aiming at a scoring title, while his team wallows in the gutter.
