OT Hi Paul and Thread,

Thought I'd share with you some good news regarding our startup. We achieved some major accomplishments this week.

We passed the 'final test' on Wed at our first beta site. And this means several things: the product remains, we have an endorsement, and we get forwarded to Sprint with recommendation. So, now we go to Sprint.

On Thursday, I was informed that Nortel wants our beta product too. On Monday, France Telecom contacted us about our product, after a conversation we had with them.

Hong Kong Telecom was caught hanging out at our website (we have the ability to detect everyone that visits, particularly unusual behavior), and with some follow up, I may turn that into something.

I am sort of surprised, or rather impressed that this is all occurring within the same week. Somehow I think this bodes well for us, even in this macro economy. Thank goodness too - it's been an incredible amount of hard work. Anyway, I'm beginning to see around the corner now. Something that wasn't possible before. The biggest headache I hope will be scrambling to build more.

As far as competition goes, we just filed a couple of patents, and I believe the one patent may lock competition out of a particular area and/or possibly prove to be licensable.

Thought I'd share this good news with you. I have to confess: it was quite a nerve racking situation. Without customer endorsement or customer acceptance, your company is as good as dead. And it's funny, when you build a product and talk to prospective customers for input, they can sound quite interested, but you don't really know until they actually get it, install it and use it. Of course, the next step is: will they write the purchase order when the beta ends. With business, there is always another corner.

But at least we've turned one rather large corner.

So, while the analysts will have you believing the communications sector is dead, it appears to be breathing.

Anyways, I wanted to share the good news about our startup!!!

Regards,
Amy J
(PS We're not under NDA with any of the firms I mentioned above, but I really should get NDA's executed, so this will be my last post on this topic. We have not publicly announced our products/company, and even when we do, I will not disclose that on SI as this wouldn't be good for me to mix business with my personal SI hobby - I'm sort of making this exception here (without disclosing any information) because I wanted to share this good news with you folks!!! )
