March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Gendaq Ltd announced today that the Company's high throughput robotic zinc finger engineering platform is now fully operational. This allows the Company to significantly increase its capacity to create novel zinc finger switches for target genes.
``We use proprietary selection systems that allow the engineering of high quality zinc finger proteins and we are pleased to announce that we have successfully configured these to a multi-parallel high throughput platform,'' explained Yen Choo, the Company's Research Director, speaking in San Francisco at the recent CHI conference 'Gene Functional Analysis'.
With the completion of the human genome sequence, the rapid determination of gene function has become a major challenge for biomedical research. A vital part of this functional genomics drive involves the ability to knock out or over express hundreds if not thousands of genes. The Company is already delivering zinc finger proteins to its collaborators using its new high throughput robotic engineering platform.
Gendaq Ltd is a privately held biotechnology company that specializes in gene regulation. The Company's zinc finger technology enables the up- and down-regulation of any gene in any eukaryotic cell and can be applied in areas as diverse as human therapeutics, gene therapy, agricultural biotechnology, disease diagnosis and functional genomics....
