Duncan--My guess is that they simply want to sell as many Zips as possible--in line with their efforts to make it THE storage drive--and can do so at this point because their production has increased dramatically. I think you're right about the competition: it's no doubt also a move to finish off SyQuest once and for all. Don't believe the LS-120 comes into it; my understanding is that it's only available preinstalled on Compaq computers. Janice
