Isn't this ruling a little bass ackwards? Seems to me that a margin investor represents a much higher risk to a brokerage than a pure daytrader, yet requirements are tightened for the daytrader. Meanwhile, potentially unsophisticated "investors" are given more rope to hang themselves with. Go figure.
