Disagree. The United States is becoming less white. And that spells trouble for the Republicans down the road. (As an interesting aside, the breakup of the former Soviet Union occurred shortly after the Russians became a minority within their own imperialistic empire.) The base of the Republican Party is white suburbia. In the last election, 71 percent of all Hispanics voted Democratic (Gore); 91 percent of all blacks voted Democratic (Gore).

For the most part, if the Republicans reach out to attract more minorities to the party, they by necessity will alienate their white base.

Hence, as the percentage of Hispanics and African-Americans grows in the United States, that ain't good news for the Republican Party.
