nemer thanks for the intrusion heads up. i searched my machine for the filenames listed, just for grins. i realize that the "filenames... identified in connection with the intrusions...(are) specific to Microsoft Windows NT systems", but i see NT interchanged so frequently with win2000 that i decided it wouldn't hurt to check. i'm going to pass that post along to some folks i know with corporate networks. their IT guy just loves when i keep tugging on his sleeve saying, "what about this one, huh?" <g3> :) mark
