Daniel, I think that the best managed and financed among the new players will survive. But the worm crawled out of the can already, I think. Many of the players I'm including in the new world space are among the best-financed utilities and trading companies. Of course, a lot of this depends on the bandwidth trading model to take off along with other means of exchanging bandwidth currency, which, admittedly, are by no means slam dunk outcomes at this time, either. But the directions that even the staunchest among the legacy carriers must follow have been dictated already, as witnessed most recently by the "all-optical" directions that even the top three IXCs have touted. While they tout directions, their smaller and more nimble counterparts are already booking miles without the need to rewrite code. Having stated all of this, I still respect the points you make. They are well taken. FAC
