I think I'll start a "media clowns" thread. Here's a good example: Smart Money, Feb. 2001 issue, lists eight stocks under the headline, "Catch the Next Tech Wave." Their list is based on prices as of 12/21/00. Prices then and prices now are:
AMCC 53.88, now 26.25; BRCD 136.88, now 28.06; CHKP 117.31, now 67.00; CORV 19.50, now 6.88; EMC 59.25, now 34.84; ITWO 43.31, now 19.63; ONIS 36.19, now 27.88; TXCC 36.06, now 18.88.
Well, four of the eight are down by more than 50 percent; the best pick is ONIS, down by only about 25 percent.
Oh, well. I bought it for the Anna Kournikova ad on page 100.<g>
