GVTucker,

re:"Sure it's bigoted.

Think about this:"

OK ... lets think about this:

Are white people naturally better at hockey than black people?

I dont know, although i doubt it very much. I think you can only compare where large populations exert themselves and one can analyze. As u know hockey is primarily played in colder climates which are predominantly black.

Are the Chinese naturally better divers than people in the United States?

Again i doubt it very much. As we both know this was a loaded choice by you. The government of china decided to spend money and focus on getting olympic medals by any means necassary. They chose swimming, diving for several reasons.

If Tiger Woods' mother was black, would he be a poorer golfer?

Clearly you cannot make any generic statement for a singular person as standard deviation is high.

It seems to me that in US there are 3 major sports which 40 yrs ago were all dominated by white players. The black players had to surmount lots of obstacles including racism etc. But they have excelled and now dominate these sports.

I am indian and grew up in england.

Cricket and soccer and rugby are most popular sports in england.

India and lots of english ex-colonies are cricket mad.

Over past 20-30 yrs a VERY large percentage of the greats in the sport come from what we call the west indies (basically caribeean).

In soccer the elite players come from Brazil, you may have heard of Pele (at least).

If you watched the olympics, i am sure you saw a very large proportion of athletic gold medals going to blacks.

So in the short period of time when significant numbers of blacks have had remotely an even field to compete they have excelled even when numbers of black people is sub 10% of the overall field.

Tell me why its bigoted to make such an observation??

regards,

Kash
