In addition to that ad being ridiculously bad, it also further illustrates that G*USA (I presume--perhaps G* runs the ad) still has its head up its a$$. G* will never make money selling to hikers in the woods. It needs to sell (1) to corporations who are often in and out of cellular range, usually driving (Fed Ex, UPS, truckers, etc.) and (2) fixed phones. This is not news and is common sense when you look at the number of MOUs that need to be sold.

G*USA has from the beginning targeting the entirely wrong niche markets, starting with the Baja 100.

The dumb can't get any dumber, but they're certainly not getting any smarter either. I am still of the opinion that the G* system will make lots of money for someone someday, but not until someone with an ounce of marketing skills takes the reins of the operations.

Has anyone bought into my theory (which was mocked 6-9 months ago) yet that the SPs actually don't want G* to succeed until after the reorg when the debt is stripped? These ads, as ridiculous as they are, are "evidence" that the SPs paid good money to try to sell the product.
