Installed a Maxtor 30 gig drive today using the MaxBlast Plus.. the software is great... it formatted and partitioned the new drive, PLUS copy all the Windows 98 files etc from the old drive to the Maxtor drive. Windows boots from the new drive and everything works as exact clone of the old drive.

Except: There is no sound when I play CD on the CD drive!! Wonder what the problem is??

The Sound Blaster card and speakers are OK... I can play MP3 files on the hard drive. However, no sound on the CD drive, even though the CD spins, and I can see the track playing.

The CD drive was reassigned by the BIOS to drive F. I partitioned the new drive into 2: C and E, D is the old drive, and F is the CD drive. . Previously the CD drive was E.

Help! All suggestions on how I can correct the problem is most appreciated.
