Good evening Tom, I did alot of reading this past week and decided to open my 3rd long for the year. Believe it or not I established a position in Corvis, I just couldn't resist. I live about 30 minutes away from their headquarters, so I guess I could go bang on their door if I had to...but I don't think that will be necessary. Since I normally hold at least a year, I'm confident that we will be higher than we are now.
I would like to know how bookings are going for these products:
<The CorWave XF festoon product offers point-to-point links for mainland-to-island and island-to-island spans as well as multiple links along coastlines. This system can be fully integrated with the Corvis all-optical network. Both products will be available in the second quarter of 2001. >

I read yesterday that TLAB said:
<The company said growth in its core optical networking business remains strong, but its Cablespan products, which allow voice and data services to be transmitted over cable television networks, have seen ``below-trend growth.'' It expects Cablespan sales to remain soft for the next few months.>

<Tellabs also said revenue from shipments of its new Titan 6500 optical switch product will be recognized in the second quarter rather than the first quarter as previously expected. Optical switches help connect voice and data traffic to the proper destination.>

Tonight (A) CEO Ed Barnholt also said optical components were strong.

Well all in all,I'm not so sure the business is as bad as some would want us to think.

Good luck and good investing,
G
