Economy is only suffering on the demand side(not much new products beyond housing and cars, also time saving frozen recipes). Supply side pump is still intact.

New wireless technology will include convergence technology so that all transmissions(including interactive DTV digital TV thru microwave towers) will be compatible to the monitors. This planned obsolescence will spur the demand side economy for the next ten years.

Wages and unemployment in the mean time remains the same. Middle management eliminated will go to small firms to show them where the money is. Large business will get better with more cut back to staff the small businesses. ie., small banks benefitted from large banks merging to release their equiped branches.

I am optimistic on central planning of our economy.
