True, if a company does not pay dividends (although a stock buy-back is a form of dividend), then why invest in that stock? My rationale is that if a genuinely good business (such as InfoSpace) has become severely undervalued, other overvalued companies will buy it using their over-valued scrips to generate synergy and market power. Creation of value from such synergy and perpetuation of market power is the essence of capitalism.
