SCOOBEY-DO~more and more it seems like companies are taking a stand! (maybe VALH can take this course?) ----- To those who bash WTA; There have been many posts by a few posters alleging nefarious and criminal activities by WTA and Doug Norman (Doug Norman and offshore bank accounts, Doug Norman and a Maritime group, false news releases by WTA, etc. ) Free speech allows us all to express our opinions. But, if we slander and lie, we can be prosecuted.
Below illustrates when a basher lies:
New York --- A Texas day trader was convicted of stock fraud Thursday for posting phony profit warnings for Lucent Technologies on an Internet message board. A federal jury convicted day trader Fred Moldofsky of stock fraud, even though members of the panel never understood why Moldofsky posted the warnings. Jurors said after the verdict that they ultimately concluded his motives didn't matter. Moldofsky faces up to 10 years in prison. His lawyers argued that he posted the phony warnings because he believed Lucent executives were lying about earnings expectations, and that he never intended to deceive investors. ----- So, even if you never wanted to hurt anyone, and if you think you are doing good by posting comments which are not accurate (i.e., phoney), your motive is not a defense. You are judged by what you say. And, if a poster was served with a suit, the RB records could be obtained to show multiple aliases and a pattern of deceit.
Say what you want, but be prepared to defend it. bostonmjf ragingbull.lycos.com |
