>Bill Curry, an Amazon spokesman, said: "We have received the letter. We have
nothing to say about it."
The society is fighting for the right of investors to accurate
financial information. High time somebody did.
Tonyt, I'm thinking this guy Bill Curry could get an A for being a diplomat.
I wonder if he was ever a spokesman for Richard Nixon when his presidency was crumbling down.
>The particular tower of Babel under assault by the society is the one that Jeff built.
Jeffrey P. Bezos, that is, chairman and chief executive of Amazon.com. The Internet
retailer is the subject of a forum sponsored by the society to tackle the issues of
confusing financial information facing investors today.
Do you know until Jeff and his then CFO Joy Covey (she has since left taking with her a 'ton' of money) came up with EBITDA reporting I had never heard of it before?
Now its commonly used by most companies who are trying confuse everyone.
EBITDA is great for cash flow analysis, but give me company who reports in GAAP, and Glenn and I can tell in 5 minutes whether its making a profit or not!
