I have requested the link to the data from R. Hahn and I will post here when I get it. I also asked his position on the question regarding possible short increase explaining some of it.

Either way its foolish for margin to be at a record high if it is accurate. Long or Short on heavy margin at this juncture in the market is a recipe for a lot of money to be lost.

So you would feel good if a record margin debt were held in short positions?
