An unsurprising response. Arrogance covers for lack of research experience and 'worthiness' is doled out as if the purveyor vested the requisite authority. Talk about a 'bounty of bombast' and (especially) 'considerable' self-righteousness. I'm not quite sure which 'we' you are referencing, but those seeking balanced neuroscience information lacking self-referential piety should not travel to your incessantly posted web site.

The issues raised in post 182 were neither disregarded nor replaced...as anyone who carefully read post 183 would find immediately apparent. Perhaps it should come as no surprise that you would criticize others for spending the time and effort to research an accurate discussion for a vexing and complex pathology. Perhaps 'we' would find enlightening a list of literature references covering the two decade-plus history of this treatment approach that may provide 'us' with the assurance that you've the sufficient background in the field. The level of arrogance in your reply suggests, at a minimum, this research is at your fingertips. However, the degree of gratuitous sarcasm in your final sentence leads one to believe this substantial literature search and digestion does not form a major component in your opinion formation.

[And it should also come as no surprise that there was an initial distortion of my original post on this topic. I never claimed that the field of cellular augmentation/trophic factor application is globally dangerous and is doomed to failure. These treatment protocols are simply not ready for prime-time. Animal research, especially in non-human primates, should continue, perhaps with increased vigor. Human studies should cease for the foreseeable future until there is a MUCH more complete understanding of the CNS-wide implications of such approaches. The animal studies will almost certainly involve additional decades of research. It is precisely this sort of time scale the pharmaceutical and biotech industries cannot fathom; it is precisely this fact that poses the a significant threat to unsuspecting patients.]
