This will sound really stupid, but I think KSS is a better short candidate at 65 than it is at 70. My reasoning is that this bloated pig of a stock still has a lot of ardent followers- some big funds and some of the momentum crowd are in KSS because it still has strong relative strength (comes up in Investors Business Daily's screens for example). However, once the momentum dies, there is no fundamental reason to own this pig so the momentum investors will flee. My point is: there are probably safer shorts out there- KSS still has a lot of institutional supporters. But, sooner or later, this puppy will trade much closer to book value.
What do you call a momentum stock which has lost its mo?
