Actually, there are governments whose opinion we should and do pay attention to. Canada. Britain. All of western Europe, although France gets maybe a half vote. The newly democratic nations of eastern Europe. Australia. New Zealand. Japan. Taiwan. South Korea. Did I leave anyone out?
