Yes. No one understands economics, but no one agrees with you either. They go ahead with pulling the levers that bring about random shocks anyway.

What needs to be understood are the principles of economics, not the prescriptions for actions to be taken to change something that appears to be bad into what is surely not good. What can be understood is most of what needs to be understood. What should be done is well known by most. The problem is that the choices made have nothing to do with what should be done. They have to do with ulterior motives disconnected with economics.
