Jeff, is going to HAVE TO BE VERY CLEAR IN HIS EXPLANATION and giving out out some suspensions. If he isn't and he allows certain things to happen, yet turns a blind eye to others, it proves that on SI everything goes. In fact, I'm sure actual use of chains is condoned.
Let's look at the list:
1) Jeff will have to explain how he let 6 threads of the same topic post and with the boring tirade on one person when he is about as innocent as O.J. Simpson. Why was not anyone around to police these threads in his absence?
2) Jeff will have to explain how Tim Luke is allowed to post messages through a 'ventriloquist'
3) Jeff will have to explain how come certain characters are vilified for having advertising, yet others are dancing through the cherry orchards (ya hear, dear Teresa, A@P and OJ)Although I agree with the BAN ON ADVERTISING. I don't agree with the brutal way it was handled.
4) Jeff will have to explain what INDEED ARE THE ADVERTISEMENT POLICIES OF SI. I don't know I haven't been privy to this. But if she (jenna) is right, in that she was actually given permission to post links, SI is in hot water and should be responsible for what went on this weekend and last weekend.
5) Jeff will have to explain why posters are allowed to get away with names like 'bob' and 'lola' which obviously is intended to BYPASS the moderated rules.
6) Jeff will have to post exactly what the advertisement policy arrangement is for everyone.. and I pretty much think they haven't really committed themselves.
6) Jeff will have to explain how come the Welcome to Silicon Investor thread is just a campground for the fringe element on SI, to plot their dirty deeds and why this has been allowed to flourish.
7) Jeff will have to make public everyone's ban list.. We probably figured out that Anthony has a few hundred.. and if people were allowed to ban in the first place (I don't have a thread so I'm posting from heresay) why is it suddenly a crime to use it? I was banned on the first post by all the threads that were launching their katyusha rockets this weekend.
8) Jeff will have to do some heavy punishing here or else if gives the green light for every subversive element on SI to rage, plunder and loot with their chains without limitation.
9) Jeff will have to explain to any media or press, why the policy on SI is hypocritical. And why both the advertisements on one side and the boring new threads are allowed to spew forth like guppies. Certainly we can't just clean up the advertisements, yet let bedlam and riot run rampant on SI.
10) Jeff will have to explain why anyone on SI can START 30 THREADS AND THERE IS NO LIMIT TO THE AMOUNT OF THREADS in any time frame. In fact I should have started a few threads myself with these questions, but I know where to draw the line. But tomorrow if I have time.. i'll start 3 or 4. During the weekend, since I'm retired, I might just try for a baker's dozen. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
And if Jeff can't explain this to me then maybe he would explain to certain columnists on important financial publications (and one not so important). |
