laodeng,
our young Chinese friends, lazylakers, lazykhan, lazybrianh are all Americanized and are all too lazy to pick up their share of work. I guess it is up to old folks like you and me to pick up the slack.

From this link, I will translate a couple of the key paragraphs that is in addition to the article you translated last week:
"....China Unicom estimates: after this year, CDMA subscriber growth will use the rate of 10 million adds per year ....."
"....... while it is unclear how competitive domestic manufactures may be, but based on current estimates, domestic manufactures should capture about 40% of the contracts, or 6-8 billion yuan (US$1 = 8.28 yuan)..... as domestic technical capabilities mature, they should be awarded a larger market share..."
(my notes: domestic GSM manufacturers now control less than 10% of market share)
"...... 9 domestic firms and 4 foreign vendors have been accepted for bidding. This round of network construction differs from previous which utilizes an "island expansion" style, (launching one location at a time). This time unicom is going to use a "big cover" method, in other words, multiple locations at the same time....."
"The total award will be around 20 billion yuan (over US$2 billion)."
It is absolutely amazing that no US news agencies, analysts, telecom trade jornals etc etc is picking up on this news. Are they all asleep or on vacation?
It would be ironic that Cabi or Snyder pick up this development and run with it ahead of all the other QCOM bullish analysts. Would that make them geniuses?
When this news eventually hits the street, I want all of you to remember that you heard it first with thanks to laodeng.
