In other words he isn't saying that leftists are Nazis, or that the left in the US is like the Nazis. He does consider them closer to the Nazi's then conservatives but even if you accept this as true it doesn't mean they are actually close.

I like his statement "Modern conservatives have no trouble seeing that Nazism was evil incarnate, but for generations Leftists had trouble seeing that Stalin belongs in the adjacent cubicle in Hell..." B

But I don't think there are too many stalinists in the US.
