Let's not take a "tech or nothing" stand.

Well of course there's no reason to be religious about it. Bruce Brown, for instance, invests in lots of non-tech stocks, including (I think) Harley, Pfizer and Amgen.

But remember, the goal of this thread is not to find every good investment in the market. We restrict our focus to potential Gorillas & Kings, which necessarily excludes non-techs. The advantage of this restricted approach is that it allows us to know our companies fairly well. (I'm not saying we always succeed there, but we're given a head start by holding to a narrow circle of competency).

I don't doubt that there are Walmarts & Home Depots out there that will offer tremendous returns. But as a group, we on the thread are a lot more capable of finding the next Cisco than the next Walmart.
