If you're a stockholder of Company X, you likely have no objections to the CEO or board of directors spending millions of dollars in political donations to benefit the company in the long term.

Why should unions be different? Same principle.


I don't see how that's the same principle. Whether I'm a stockholder in the company or an employee, it would be in my best interest for the board to give money to produce a long-term benefit the company. The continued success of the company is in everyone's best interest.

Unions lobby for power--against companies for the most part. There could be a net benefit for the employee in this, or maybe not.
