Gee, it looks like the Beach Boys are something else we have in common. I didn't WANT to love the Beach Boys -- I spent much of my youth trying not to get ostracized by surfers in California.

But I think Brian Wilson is the most talented composer in pop history, and Pet Sounds is the greatest album. And of course, those guys could harmonize.

I'm going to the tribute to Brian Wilson at Radio City Music Hall, where he is going to perform Pet Sounds in its entirety with a full orchestra. Some of the folks paying tribute include Elton John, Paul Simon, Ann & Nancy Wilson (Heart), Matthew Sweet (a great pop artist heavily influence by B.W.). I'd be surprised if Paul McCartney doesn't show up.
