Dave, I am jealous of your attendance at the Brian Wilson tribute. I remember when I was 16 the hot rock radio station in San Jose used to have callers determine the top ten by the number of calls for each song. Most nights, the top ten was 5 Beach Boys songs and 5 Beatles songs. Then I used to hustle up a date to get on Record Hop in San Jose or Dance Party in San Francisco, hoping I'd see some top group lip synch their record for the tv audience. I saw lots of groups and singers on those shows, but can't remember any of them now, so they must have been one hit wonders. Or, more likely, proteges of the producer. <g> I never got to see The Beach Boys.

Don't get me wrong. I got to see lots of top groups, usually for free, around the Bay Area, but The Beach Boys were never one of them. And most of the groups I saw when I was older and not as awestruck.

Hope you have a great time and give us a review in one of your publications.
