Actually Barry the soul within all os us if far beyond the designation of male or female, gay or straight, black or white, liberal or conservative. What we do while within this body is basically all an illusion and a distraction from what is our real nature. In the myth of the cave, Plato described this quite nicely. Most religions at their core teach this.
Fear and ignorance are their in politics and religion. We see it all the time
