I think that is one of the problems. It would be hard to set up a new "joint" status for gays cause some heterosexuals would opt for it also. The we would have gays wanted the regular marriage,etc. IT is a complicated situation but I agree that gays should be allowed some kind of legal relationship. Marriage is in fact the legal business arrangement part of being in love.
