To restore confidence in the stock:

VALH Things to do list.

Just thinking out loud here. In order to restore confidence in the stock, the following come to mind:

1. Bring in new, qualified people in key positions, such as a good CFO.
2. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions on the creditors list. Get off the CCAA ASAP.
3. Cut costs where ever possible. Return to profitability.
4. Renegotiate or dump some of the unfavorable leases while under the CCAA.
5. Improve the balance sheet. Convert debt to equity if possible. (This may have to wait until the stock price recovers).
6. Be prepared if the Softwood Trade Agreement is not renewed or extended. Then can re-open US market sales.
7. Sell all "dead" assets.
8. Move more funds into marketing and local sales efforts.
9. Cancel planned acquisition of ABS.
10. Schmooze key customers and keep in touch with them.
11. Cancel the "B" preferred shares, or renegotiate them for redemption at a fraction of the $1 Canadian. (I would propose .10 per share under current conditions). If Ziner has problems with this, then ask him how we are doing so far under his leadership. It's time for Mr. Ziner to show that he is willing to "take one" for the team.

Network has a good business, worth fixing, and someone may want what they have if they get it back on solid or even semi-solid ground.

Reasonable suggestions to this list appreciated.
