Monthly? Comments... :)

Recent days have been a decisive victory for the bears. Fundamentals aren't improving, and various news and press releases come at the perfect times to give the market a nudge down. Do I think we're at a bottom? No, not really. But I'm not shorting down here anymore. Sub-2000 is just too convenient a place to cover. (I did) I'm anticipating a particularly sharp snap-back rally; how high? Not sure. But I expect it to be fast, possibly too fast and, timing-wise, too unpredictable to catch. I expect the market to sell off, after this rally, on whatever news happens to pop up at this time. This will set the stage for a convincing re-penetration of 2000 onwards to 1800, and then? 1600? 1500? Who knows. I haven't looked that far ahead yet.

Gold is perking up. No one likes to hear it, and the gold folks have been beaten away from every board everywhere, but check out some of the charts... they are speaking for themselves now...

Happy and profitable trading to all, and don't forget St. Patrick's day coming up! A chance to unwind from what looks like a trying week ahead...

Simon.
