Comments on CATP offer Well first off it could have been a lot worse - Novell could have bid for FirstMarch, after all it already owns share in the operation. By offering shares instead of cash, Novell has tied in the current falls in the market (the offer is already 4% less than that quoted) and with the market mood at the moment the shares could be heading sub $5. As of today at least 2000 IT consultants are reading up on Novell's product range and working out how they are going to sell it to their clients - after all what else can they do - go work for FirstMarch?? Compaired to Novell's takeover of WP and Unix, this deal may even make sense in the long term!!! Roger
