StarBand Passes 25,000 Customer Milestone;
Satellite-Delivered Two-Way High-Speed Internet
Subscribers in All 48 Continental States
individual.com
MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12,
2001 via NewsEdge Corporation -

StarBand Communications Inc. today announced
that it has reached a significant milestone with
25,000 customers throughout all 48 states in the
continental U.S. - from the Havasupai Indian tribe
surfing at the bottom of the Grand Canyon to an
investment banker in a New York City Park Avenue
penthouse. StarBand is the nation's only two-way,
high-speed, satellite-delivered Internet service
provider.

"We are excited about our growth to date," stated
StarBand's Chief Executive Officer and
Co-Chairman Zur Feldman. "Consumers are now
able to purchase the StarBand service through
DISH Network dealers, RadioShack stores, online
directly from StarBand and, as we most recently
announced, from members of the National Rural
Telecommunications Cooperative. These
partnerships are invaluable to our growth and to
our mission to reach those consumers tired of
waiting for the high-speed Internet revolution to
reach their neighborhood."

StarBand also recently signed a three-year
renewal of its distribution agreement with EchoStar
Communications Corporation. Currently, DISH
dealers nationwide are selling the StarBand
service both as a bundled offering with DISH
Network programming and as a stand-alone,
high-speed Internet service. The number of DISH
dealers selling StarBand service is expected to
grow steadily throughout the year.

"In just over one year, StarBand has gone from a
business plan to over 25,000 subscribers, national
distribution channels, and an infrastructure to
support the demand from consumers still waiting for
high-speed Internet access," Feldman concluded.
"We will continue to execute against a key
company objective: To bring high-speed Internet
access to virtually everyone, everywhere in the
United States."

Currently available to residents living in the
continental U.S., StarBand plans to launch service
in Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico later this year.
