" Wish I had kept my QQQ and SOX puts.."

Yes, I could have just sat with my XLK short position--and I was short QQQ for a while--but the volatility was harrowing.

It's no fun to have to pull $10,000 out of a savings account for house repairs to forestall a margin call, even if you are confident things will go your way again soon. Also, the brokers from time to time get mixed up in very active markets and misread a short position as a long when they are checking over your account. Nothing ever happened when I got a margin call under these circumstances (three times), since I was making money on a decline, but I don't like it.

With puts on the Dow there are no problems.
