Yes, Alfred Nobel invented dynamite. That was a long time ago.

What modern military that can afford (and is allowed to buy) U.S. fighter planes buys Swedish planes. Can't name any, can you?

Saab autos. Oh, now there's a gift to the world.

And go to Finland and say pubicly that there's no difference between Finns and Swedes. Then try to get out alive.
Bergman. Okay. If that's your pleasure, well, good for you. Not mine, I assure you.

If Sweden had ceased to exist 50 years ago, I can't think of a single difference it would have made in my life.

If the U.S. had ceased to exist 50 years ago, we wouldn't have modern aviation, computers, most of the medicines the world relies on, copy machines, and on and on. Europe might still, without the Marshall plan, be recovering from WWII.

Good thing you're not a fan of Sweden. With friends like you . . .

Make that 60 years ago, and all Europe, and perhaps the whole world, would be speaking German.
