Societal decay? Measured by... what, crime rates? illegitimacy rates? abortion rates? divorce rates? prisoners as a %age of population? proportion of society living in poverty? proportion of society not educated to 18+ level? what?
You really have no idea of what you're talking about, do you...? Or have you compared the US figures to Sweden's and concluded that the higher percentage must be better because the numbers are bigger?
That will be your 'facile' comment, I guess.
